New Record in Number of Flights between UAE And Israel

Yesterday, a new record was made in the number of flights between United Arab Emirates and state of Israel ever since the peace treaty was signed last August. Thirty flights were operated yesterday between Tel Aviv, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

When UAE and Israel signed this peace treaty and normalization of relationship between the two states, no one thought that there will be a large number of flights between the two countries. Adding that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia never allowed an Israeli airline to pass through its airspace, which will make operating flights even more difficult and less cost efficient.

But the request of the UAE was accepted by the Saudi authorities to allow all airlines from all over the world operated from and to UAE to pass the Saudi airspace (without naming Israel in particular). This clearance from the Saudi authorities made it possible to operate direct flights efficiently.

El-Al, the Israeli national carrier, immediately operated the first flight from Ben Gurion International and Abu Dhabi. After this first commercial flight between the two states, a number of carriers from both countries began operating flights.

The peak of these flights was made yesterday, December 13th, 2020 when four carriers, operated thirty flights carrying 4500 passenger. The thirty flights were operated mostly by Israeli carriers, including El-Al, Israir and Arkia. The only Emirati carrier to operated flights yesterday was FlyDubai
